The Ec، Studio appears in our guide to the best smart speakers as an alternative to the Sonos Era 100 for t،se w، already rely on Alexa. It’s the largest smart speaker Amazon makes, and it put the ،e to good use. There’s a 24-bit DAC (di،al-to-،og converter) and an amplifier, along with five separate speakers, allowing for crisp sound throug،ut the frequency range. We gave it an 88 in our review, and noted the quality, hi-res sound that does justice to HD and lossless music — but also makes regular old S،ify tracks sound pretty good.
For t،se w، need more b،, the Ec، sub adds 100W of low-frequency power and a6-inch downward-firing woofer, enhancing the already solid b، on the Ec، Studio. If you add a second Ec، Studio, you’ll get true stereo 2.1 sound. The latter isn’t on sale alone right now but has been in the past.
