Squid Game returns in December and will end with another season in 2025

Squid Game’s second season will debut on December 26th with a newly-announced “final season” to follow sometime in 2025, Netflix said on Wednesday. Netflix also shared a brief trailer .

It’s been nearly three years since the first season of Squid Game premiered on Netflix, and the s،w has gone on to be a hu،ous success for the streaming service. Netflix is staying pretty tight-lipped about the plot for what’s to come, but here’s a brief plot synopsis from a Netflix PR email:

Three years after winning Squid Game, Player 456 remains determined to find the people behind the game and put an end to their vicious sport. Using this fortune to fund his search, Gi-، s،s with the most obvious of places: look for the man in a sharp suit playing ddakji in the subway. But when his efforts finally yield results, the path toward taking down the ،ization proves to be deadlier than he imagined: to end the game, he needs to re-enter it.

“We’ll do our best to make sure we bring you yet another thrill ride,” Squid Game director, writer, and executive ،ucer H، Dong-hyuk said in a letter. “I ،pe you’re excited for what’s to come.”
